   Coal Tar Refining Company was established in 1997 with the aim of processing and refining the chemical waste generated by coke production units (coal tar) and converting it into valuable and diversified chemical products, with an annual capacity of 100,000 tons. The company's refinery has been designed and built based on one of the most advanced European technologies and is currently the largest coal tar refinery in the Middle East.

    The company supplies raw materials to the country's key industries, including aluminum smelters, industrial carbon black manufacturers, and refractory products producers, and the naphthalene produced by this company enjoys premium, world-class quality.

    In recent years, due to a shortage of tar-based feedstock, the company has faced numerous challenges in securing raw materials and tar feedstock; however, by revising its feedstock portfolio and incorporating petrochemical cuts alongside fresh coal tar, it has partially compensated for the shortage of raw materials. By observing environmental considerations in both design and operation, the company has played a significant role in cleaning the region of chemical waste.
